Jespren, I do see what you mean, but what is a nation if not a sum of its people? “Canada” is not a vacuum, and the geographic area is not “wicked.”
I agree with you that governments tend to be evil, which is not an admirable part of human nature, and also that this evil extends to all countries. At that point, though, it’s like saying, “I like to breathe air,” or, “Humans don’t always make the best decisions.” Pretty pointless, in other words.
My first thought, still, when I read a statement like that is, wow, this person has a dreadful grasp of human nature or else just knows nothing about Canada. I’m sure I’m not the only one who would react that way. Had Chris written something well-thought-out, like you did, I would have been in agreement with him/her too.
